Trump’s financial disclosure for 2025 lists $10.71 million from the Melania documentary.

The Office of Government Ethics released the 927-page filing on June 30, 2026. It lists the $10.71 million under his spouse’s income, as net proceeds to Melania Trump’s company, MKT World LLC, from a license agreement for the film. The Wall Street Journal had reported her cut at more than 70 percent of the $40 million, or at least $28 million. Jeff Bezos said it was “just not correct” to describe the deal as buying influence, and White House spokesperson Anna Kelly said neither the president nor his family “has ever engaged” or “will ever engage” in conflicts of interest.

Reported and alleged 1

  1. Reported

Amazon paid $40 million for a documentary about Melania Trump, and the Wall Street Journal reported that more than 70 percent of it went to her.

Amazon also committed $35 million to marketing, sums CNN called eye-poppingly high for a documentary. CNN reported the film was on track for about $7 million in its opening weekend and said Amazon would not recoup its costs from the theatrical release. Trump: “I’m not involved. That was done with my wife.” Amazon said it licensed the film “for one reason and one reason only,” because “we think customers are going to love it,” and later told lawmakers the deal followed a competitive bidding process.
