  1. On record

Trump picked his own resort, Trump National Doral, to host the G20 leaders’ summit on December 14-15, 2026.

Trump had planned to hold the 2020 G7 at Doral and dropped it after criticism. No cost figures were released with the announcement. The White House said the resort would host “at-cost, and will receive no profit from either the State Department or a foreign government.”

Reported and alleged 1

  1. Alleged

CREW sued the State Department and Secret Service for records on how Doral was picked for the G20 and how payments to Trump’s businesses are handled.

CREW asked both agencies for records after the September 2025 announcement, and sent the State Department a second request on December 22, 2025. The suit says the agencies hadn’t released any documents or ruled on the first request, and the State Department hadn’t acknowledged the second. CREW sought records on how the venue was chosen, how the State Department handles payments to Trump and deals with companies he owns or controls, and its emoluments policies.
