On American Bitcoin’s first trading day, the 20% stake held by the Trump brothers’ company American Data Centers was worth about $1.5 billion at the close, Reuters calculated.
Reuters called it the brothers’ stake; Bloomberg later put Eric Trump’s own share of American Bitcoin at roughly 6%. Hut 8 owns the other 80%, The Block reported. Eric Trump told Reuters his father has no part in it: “He’s running a nation. He’s not involved in our businesses in any way, shape, or form.”

Reported
American Bitcoin’s shares fell more than 95% from their peak, erasing more than $600 million from the value of Eric Trump’s stake, Bloomberg calculated.
The drop forced a 1-for-15 reverse stock split in July 2026 to keep the Nasdaq listing. Bloomberg put Eric Trump’s ownership at roughly 6%; Donald Trump Jr.’s stake is undisclosed. Eric Trump, the Trump Organization and American Bitcoin didn’t respond to Bloomberg. Eric Trump said on a podcast that the company doesn’t plan to sell its bitcoin.
