Alleged
House Judiciary Democrats opened an investigation into Kushner, saying Affinity Partners manages about $6.16 billion, 99% of it from foreign nationals, while he serves as a U.S. peace envoy.
Ranking member Jamie Raskin’s April 16, 2026 letter says Kushner raised money from sovereign wealth funds run by the governments of Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar, including $2 billion from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. It is a minority-party investigation. The release says Affinity refused to cooperate with a 2022 inquiry.

Alleged
Serbian prosecutors indicted Serbia’s culture minister and three others over document tampering that cleared the way for a Trump-brand hotel planned by Kushner’s Affinity Partners in Belgrade.
The charges concern removing heritage protection from the former Yugoslav Army General Staff complex, which was to be leased to Affinity Partners for a hotel, homes and a memorial. Minister Nikola Selaković is suspected of abuse of office and forgery of an official document. Affinity withdrew on December 15, 2025, telling N1 it was “withdrawing our application and stepping aside at this time.”

Reported
Affinity Partners raised $1.5 billion more in 2024 from Abu Dhabi’s Lunate and the Qatar Investment Authority, and its assets rose 60% to $4.8 billion.
Saudi Arabia has invested $2 billion in the firm, according to congressional investigators. Kushner said on a December 2024 podcast that the new money gives the fund “more firepower” and that it closed before Trump was re-elected.
